Neset Diploma Final project

This week I used premiere pro to edit , it is a software that I am very used to using as i have used it within previous projects , within the programme it had all the effects and transitions I needed to use for my music video, however i did need to download some plugins  for some other effects that i added in my music video, the reason I decided to use premiere pro is because its a software I trusted and i also wanted to improve my skills in, I had trouble doing is creating a black bar for my music video this effect is also called a letterbox, to find out how to do it, i used YouTube and ended up finding out on how to do it. I also used after effects for some effects in my music videos. Another thing that i found hard was that i had to sync the music and my performers together. During editing i had an issue this issue put me behind in work a lot and frustrated me a lot, this is issue was that while i was editing my programme happened to crash on me and all my edited work was lost. ...

Today, i met up with my two performers to record my music video, last week i found good locations to film at, so our plan was to go to Canary Wharf and record parts of my music video, as we got to Canary Wharf i noticed that the weather wasn't going to be good, this was a problem because i needed to record some b roll shots, so i overcame the issue by recording my b rolls first instead of recording my performers lip syncing. While i was setting up my equipment my female performer 'Justine' told me that she really didn't want to be the main character so she asked be if i could change the song so that my male performer was the main character, this was a process that slowed me down because i had no choice but to change the song, i couldn't force someone to lip sync so i had to work around my performers too, so after a couple of minutes my male actor suggested a song which fitted the theme however it instead of 'Justine' being the main character it would be my m...

In my focus group we discussed my music video that I have edited, I only had 20 seconds of my music video done however I still got a good feedback to improve my work, the purpose of this focus group is to receive feedback and know what I need to improve on and what went well, from my feedback I was told that the editing is well done and not too complicated, however for improvement I need to change the colour of my clips, I will be doing this with colour correction, towards the end of the video I asked for help which I said 'would you suggest any locations I could film at?' I got feedback saying I should film near central London due to it having nice lights and a nice scenery. The reason for doing colour correction is to make the video look less raw and more cinematic, the purpose of this is for it too look more professional.

This is my reflection for my filming on the 5th of May 2019, i will be talking about what went well and what issues i had come across on this day, before i started filming i already had issues with my performers, one of my performers told me that she didn't want to do the music video due to her being camera shy, during that week i had informed my teachers about the situation and my best option was to try again and convince her to try her best in front of a camera. On the 5th of May i had tried and convinced her in doing the music video, and she was ok with it, however while i started to record she wasn't cooperating, at the time the song that i had chosen was ' Baddest ' by Amelia Monet ft EO, this song had a female protagonist, which meant that my female actor had to be on camera the most, at this point i thought id given up and i was done for the day, however i thought that my day wasn't productive enough.
