(Music Video) Reflection Week 1 - Proposal.


Within week one I had 3 ideas for my final project, these were for me to create a music video, short film or to create a documentary. Also in week one, i done my proposal, My proposal was based on what I could think of , off the top of head it was kind of a brief idea revolved around love, it was based off the theme I had chosen which was fellowship and forest, when I started to write the proposal I had a idea how I was going to develop the proposal but when I was writing it, I was struggling to come up with a strong idea , but the proposal was based off what I believe deserves a lot more awareness than its getting , I knew exactly what I want my music video to be about, but in terms of writing my proposal I found it really easy and the format was structured really well. My Proposal can be seen on the image shown. 

I based my proposal off what I was good at for example I was good at filming, i am good at creating music videos as i done it last year, this is because it was the type of media I was interested in which is music video, I wanted to base my proposal off stereotypes and people that you would associate within a relationship. The proposal was one of the first things we had done for the beginning of my final project so it was really like a draft , it was just on what I believe I could achieve with the equipment I was given . For my proposal I drew inspiration from various sources such as the other music videos, from different genres from Hip Hop, Rap, R&B and more.

Production Research/Treatment - Mise en scene

For my mise en scene, i will have props, clothing, makeup and locations, (interior and exterior), the props i would have on my music video would be very basic, these would be things like water bottles or any type of drink, this little extra prop has a massive effect to the music video as it makes it less boring and plain, i believe adding things like props to music videos make it unique and effective to the audience. For my clothing i want my two performers to specifically wear casual clothes, for example jeans and a t-shirt, however the t-shirts would be a plain t-shirt, i would want to have my performers wear a branded t-shirt but a little bit expensive, for example brands like Commes des Garcons, Moschino. Reason for this is to show the audience that this music video has been created professionally and 'money has been spent' to create it.
