Production Research/Treatment - Mise en scene

For my mise en scene, i will have props, clothing, makeup and locations, (interior and exterior), the props i would have on my music video would be very basic, these would be things like water bottles or any type of drink, this little extra prop has a massive effect to the music video as it makes it less boring and plain, i believe adding things like props to music videos make it unique and effective to the audience.

For my clothing i want my two performers to specifically wear casual clothes, for example jeans and a t-shirt, however the t-shirts would be a plain t-shirt, i would want to have my performers wear a branded t-shirt but a little bit expensive, for example brands like Commes des Garcons, Moschino. Reason for this is to show the audience that this music video has been created professionally and 'money has been spent' to create it. Another reason for me choosing branded shirts is because it appeals to the viewer and audience, its eye catching this suggests that the music video would keep the audience occupied while watching the music video.

Furthermore, with makeup i wouldn't think i would require any make up for anyone, i would like to keep natural and show the audience that it's possible to make a good music video without makeup, however from my research i found that they use makeup as a way to improve, enhance, or alter the appearance of the actors/actresses. One of the most important and impressive skills that a TV and film artist can do is be able to recreate the makeup so that the character's appearance is consistent despite if filming was done out-of-sequence.

Finally for my location i have chosen places which are high end and different to what people would see everyday, for my location i want to use places like Canary Wharf, or areas in Westminster, the reason for me picking Canary Wharf is because it has amazing skyscrapers and an amazing view for filming, from my secondary research i found that the skyscrapers at Canary Wharf reflect the sun and the sky, meaning that it would be really good on camera. Moreover its bridges are architectural works of art and its distance from the centre of London gives it a calmer and more amiable atmosphere, this suggesting that i can have unique location of art work in my music video. Canary Wharf is also a location where couple go out to eat, and this links to my song i have chosen and also the theme connotes that it would work well with the location due to it being fellowship.
